ABOUT AJP

Roots in industrial distribution.
A focus on palm biomass.

Founded in Medan, PT Armadamas Jasa Permana draws on a distribution history dating back to 1974, spanning industrial fuels, chemicals, agricultural commodities and manufacturing materials across Sumatra. Today, AJP focuses on sourcing and supplying palm biomass, working with suppliers primarily in Riau.

How we work

  1. Understanding buyer requirements

We discuss product specifications, required volumes and delivery needs to guide sourcing for each enquiry.

  2. Working with suppliers

We coordinate with suppliers primarily in Riau to confirm material availability and arrange collection.

  3. Coordinating delivery

We arrange road transport and agree delivery responsibilities with buyers and suppliers for each order.

DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Developing more value from palm biomass.

We welcome technology partners, processors and product buyers to explore new uses for Indonesian palm biomass.

AJP would support feedstock sourcing, supplier coordination and domestic logistics, working with partners to establish processing requirements and target markets.

Discuss a processing project

Opportunities for joint evaluation. AJP does not currently manufacture the processed products described below.

AREAS FOR EVALUATION

Four routes for joint evaluation.

Each opportunity starts with a suitable feedstock, a defined customer requirement and trials to establish technical and commercial feasibility.

PKSFOR EVALUATION

Metallurgical biocarbon

Palm kernel shellsFormed biocarbon

Explore carbon materials made from PKS for foundry applications with technology partners and industrial users. Other metallurgical uses would require separate evaluation.

Assessment: carbon and ash chemistry, sulphur and phosphorus, strength, reactivity and furnace trials. Suitability must be established for the intended process.
PKSFOR EVALUATION

Application-specific activated carbon

Palm kernel shells alongside granular activated carbon, illustrating a potential processing route
Palm kernel shellsGranular activated carbon

Evaluate granular or powdered activated carbon made from PKS for a defined purification application, beginning with the buyer’s performance and quality requirements.

Assessment: adsorption performance, purity, hardness, particle size and qualification for the intended application.
EFBFOR EVALUATION

Prepared fibre, pulp & packaging

Empty fruit bunches alongside prepared fibre, pulp and packaging samples
Empty fruit bunchesFibre, pulp & packaging

Assess preparation near the mill to supply EFB fibre for pulp and moulded packaging production. Further conversion could be developed with processing partners.

Assessment: dewatering, cleaning, fibre grading, moisture, contaminants and the receiving processor’s specification.
PMF / PPFFOR EVALUATION

Prepared fibre for composites

Palm mesocarp fibre alongside prepared fibre and composite samples
Palm mesocarp fibrePrepared fibre & composite samples

Evaluate PMF as a fibre ingredient for composite materials with processing partners. Trials would establish cleaning, drying and sizing requirements, compatibility with the selected binder or polymer, and performance of the finished composite.

Assessment: moisture, residual oil, fibre size, compatibility with the selected binder or polymer, water absorption and mechanical performance for the intended application.

Illustrations show possible material outputs; processing steps and product specifications depend on the application.

A practical starting point: prepared feedstock.

Define a buyer’s requirements, test representative material and assess preparation close to the source. Cleaning, drying, grading or baling may offer an entry point before investment in a full conversion plant.

Biochar, pellets and briquettes remain additional options, assessed against product demand and processing economics. PMF residual oil recovery may also be evaluated with mills where feedstock condition and process integration are suitable.

Research and industry examples behind these opportunities

Longer-term materials research

EFB dissolving pulp for regenerated textile fibres, specialty cellulose, electrode carbons and biochemicals are potential partner-led research routes. They require further validation, impurity control and process development.

Supporting sources

These examples cover operating facilities, company-reported trials, product listings and research. They do not establish AJP production capability, partnerships, certification or project returns.
